NMAPA is committed to helping each student develop their musical potential and aesthetic understanding for music.
NMAPA's Chorus/Music Technology program will help each student learn how to develop skills and performance techniques by singing alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music for enjoyment and appreciation.
Proper use of microphones, understanding live audio amplifications and recording techniques; how to store digital audio and video as it relates to music technology are included in our lesson plans; all of which are in compliance with Georgia Performance Standards For Fine Arts And Music Education.

Dennis Byrd is a renown composer with numerous recording projects and gospel stage plays to his credit and an extensive catalog of original music compositions including the award winning Gospel Music Classic, “Genesis”.
His music catalog also includes motivational and patriotic school songs, commercial jingle for businesses, welcome songs for churches, personalized wedding songs, anniversary songs, birthday songs, theme songs and songs of tribute.
Dennis has over 40 years’ experience in Music and Arts Industry and has produced numerous audio/video commercial projects
Spending most of his life teaching, training and developing the voices of those who love to sing, Dennis has worked with colleges, high schools and numerous elementary schools and churches; teaching music, training and motivating students to take their gifts and skills to the next level.
He was recently honored by GMWA (Gospel Music Workshop Of America) with the “Unsung Hero Award” for his songwriting and choir training skills. He was also honored at Rock Chapel Elementary School-DeKalb County Georgia, with the “Champ Award” for his continued support of their music department and for composing their school Alma Mater Song.
He is also a licensed DJ and the founder and CEO of House Of Byrd Records and Mama Byrd Music Publishers.
Dennis recently joined the staff at North Metro Academy Of Performing Arts, in Gwinnett County as a Music Specialist. He has already composed the School Pride Song, the School Alma Mater, a No Bully Zone song, several motivational songs and special compositions for academic and performing arts integration, school productions and for conflict resolution.
